That looks good but I never expected it to be served with a side of chilli powder too lol .

I used to live in Japan and went to an Indian restaurant with a girl I was dating at the time. I look up from my food and she’s tearing up saying the food is too spicy. I literally could not detect heat in the food. Japanese people really don’t do spice. Might be changing now but at least in the early 2000s, I didn’t see much lol
If you’re in Japan and you want your food to be spicy, you need to be very clear about that lol
日本で辛いもの食べたいなら、ちゃんと伝えないとダメだよ(笑)

The first time I went to Coco Curry I got spice level 4 and it was by far the spiciest thing I had ever eaten in my life. I get spicy food all the time but this was on a whole other level. Dunno if they made a mistake or had a joke at my expense but I learned the meaning of the word spicy that day.
I took my coworker’s son to CoCo and after warning him of the spice levels, he decided he’d start with a level 7 since he “eats Mexican food in California everyday”. Coco spice hits different, he only finished about a 1/3 of it.
Thank you, the volatile compounds in spices are fat soluble. It won’t taste right when you add it post cooking.
Spices go in after oil.
ありがとう。スパイスの揮発性成分は油に溶けるから、調理後に加えると味が変わっちゃうんだよね。
スパイスは油の後に入れるのが正解だよ。

Japan had some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had lol. There was a little restaurant in the Ginza that had an all you can eat lunch, which included several flavors of naan and curry + an order of tandoori chicken. I think about that food often
The most authentic Indian food I’ve had in Japan was at a place called Doon Shokudo Indoyama over in Matsumoto, I was craving something different and found it on a day trip out from Hakuba to Matsumoto castle
We had one in Osaka on one of our last days there because we were fed up with Japanese food it was pretty good actually. Not very spicy though they must tone it down
What’s the name of the place ? It looks great!!! Where i live(Nishi-ku, Osaka) There’s an authentic Indian restaurant(forgot the name unfortunately 🙁) . It is a small restaurant but it’s great!! I recently had a butter chicken there and it was amezing!! If you live anywhere near here, I’d definitely suggest you to go there!!
best indian food i’ve had so far in osaka is this little place between juso and nishinakajima-minamigata called balaji. their tandoori chicken is to die for.
Japanese curry over pork tonkatsu changed my life in Japan. I still dream about it.
日本で食べたカツカレーが僕の人生を変えた。今でもあの味が忘れられない。

Had a great meal at Bombay Sizzlers in Ginza. Naan was especially good. If you want spice, you will need to start at the halfway point for their spiciness scale. Great food, great atmosphere, great service, but just a little pricey. Still well worth it to me.
Every time its an [I ate] post I always firstly read it as a I Hate
「I ate」(食べた)の投稿を見る度に、「I Hate」(嫌い)と読んじゃう件について。

Best $40 I spent in Tokyo. Indian food so authentic only the cashier was Japanese everyone else was Indian. Went straight to the toilet upon reaching back to the hotel
